Caring for your new concrete will make a huge impact on your concrete long term.
Once we’ve poured your new concrete, it’s essential that you take proper care of it to ensure its longevity. While it may look and feel firm after we leave, it takes at least 28 days to fully cure. During this time, it’s important to keep foot traffic, pets, and bikes off the concrete to prevent any marks that could become permanent. For vehicle traffic, we recommend waiting at least 28 days before allowing any cars or trucks on the concrete.
One of the most critical steps in caring for your new concrete is to keep it wet. We recommend lightly hosing down the concrete for 2 to 7 days, especially during hot weather. This helps to ensure that the concrete cures properly and avoids cracking. Neglecting this step could lead to costly repairs down the line.
